Mid-Year Design Round-Up
With June quickly upon us, we are halfway through 2015! We can now safely say that many of the design trend predictions for this year are here to stay. Here is a round-up of a few of our favorites.
White kitchens. We’re seeing color palettes in neutrals – grays, blacks, & whites – with the white kitchen still the most popular. Perhaps the strongest trend in kitchen design is the open floor plan, because it seems that all family life revolves around food!
Large-scale wallpaper. From geometric prints to big, bold florals, we are loving the use of large-scale wallpaper in any room. These designs, in an array of colors, can take an entry way or small space and transform it from ordinary to extraordinary.
Brass. Brass is back and looks like it is here to stay. We are seeing brass fixtures and hardware in kitchens and bathrooms and it really adds a level of warmth to any of these spaces. Mixing metals is also a trend we are seeing and brass pairs nicely with some of the cooler metals.
Black window sashes. When you draw a dark line around something, you call attention to it. Black window sashes do just that. The dark color not only draws the eye to the window and molding, it also pulls your gaze to what lies outside.
Benches. You can never have enough seating. Benches are the perfect versatile furniture piece….they can be placed in any room and moved around as needed. Placing a bench at the end of a bed or two side by side, can provide extra seating and add an extra design element to any space. They can be small in size and high in style and can be found in a variety of designs and price points.
